Dear Parents,
Welcome back and welcome to Elm if your child is in Year 5. We hope you all had a lovely summer and have now settled back into the routine of a school week.
This term we have P.E on a Monday and Friday. The children are currently being asked to wear their P.E kit into school on these days along with joggers and a sweater to keep them warm in class and outside. Thanks.
Our class theme is Time Traveller, with an emphasis on different periods of history and understanding where those periods of history connect. We are also looking at change, and how items have changed quickly showing the passing of time. We will be looking at the humble phone as an example. If you have any old phones that you wouldn’t mind the children looking at, please seek them out and we will be asking for them in week 3. Thank You.
We are settling into our new classroom and area with lots of changes. This year we are supported by Mrs Venner and Ms Barnes along with Ms Prevett and Miss Sherwood. Mrs Jones is also in class on a Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. The children now eat their sandwiches in their own area and have their own toilet and locker. There is still a class communication board outside class for when Covid times are over, but until then any messages or other notices that we have for you will either come via Studybugs or e-mail.
The Parent Teacher Consultations will soon be upon us, but in the meantime, if you have any issues please do not hesitate to contact us as soon as possible to arrange a time to meet, socially distanced of course.
